ABOUT離岸について

離岸は茶室・露地を併設している〈うつわ〉を扱うギャラリーです。
〈うつわ〉とは、そこに何かを入れるモノの総称です。
その意味では、食器、酒器、茶道具もうつわですし、オブジェなども人の想いを宿らせるうつわ、そして茶道具によって飾られる茶室もまたうつわです。

日本には、自然の美をうつわという形に整えて具現化し、同時にそのうつわを満たす繊細で豊かな文化があります。〈うつわ〉と、それを満たす〈営み〉。それは日常の行為でありながら、美を媒介に、非日常へと誘われていくことでもあります。

時に、すこし「離れて」みること。向こうを眺めること。振り返って、自分の足元を見てみること。
過去を知ること。今を考えること。未来を想うこと。

そのような行ったり来たりが、生を豊かにするのではないかと思いつつ。

Between HERE and THERE

Beauty does not appear outside of us, but inside, which means, we do not have to stick to beauty of tableware. But if you find the beauty in some kind of ware, it is you.

The history of the ground, earth, and nature whisper gently. Artists listen to that voices carefully, and extract the utmost point of the beauty of them.

Your favorites are yourself, and celebrate you and your life. With the histories of it, the ware becomes a part of your life.

Also, you have your own history too. I do not know your background, but you cast ashore on here Rigan, you see something, feel something, and maybe find yourself in Rigan.

Rigan means “leave the shore”, the shore represents now, here, position, thought. In other words, the place gives life to you, or bind you. You leave the shore, look at the other shore, look back the shore you live, and feel something in between here and there.
